Embark on a transformative journey to elevate your integrated units to new heights. Join our Concept-Based approach to writing interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary units that honor all integrated disciplines as well as build common understandings that help students transfer learning seamlessly between and within disciplines and subjects.
Come on this journey with us to explore how integrated curriculum can play a vital role in developing your school or grade level’s transformative inquiry-based program.
Have a step-by-step guide that helps you as you support your teaching teams in developing an integrated curriculum that meets the needs of both the students and the school?
Feel confident developing an interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary unit that honors all integrated disciplines regardless of which disciplines or subjects are chosen?
Learn the purpose of an integrated curriculum and when you might choose this approach?
Have a clear understanding of each type of integrated curriculum model and the difference between each?
Get rid of that nagging feeling that something is just not right with the way you’ve been integrating subjects and disciplines?
Each week, you will gain access to a new video module and supporting resources.
Then, we’ll meet for a weekly, hour-long group coaching call, where we’ll focus on an aspect of the course, answer questions and provide you with an opportunity to collaborate with your colleagues.
To accommodate everyone, we’ll schedule these Zoom calls in two time zones, and we’ll record the calls for anyone who can’t attend. These discussions are such valuable opportunities for dialogue, and we want to make sure that they are available to everyone.
After week four, you will have an opportunity to schedule an individual coaching session. During this time, if you are a teacher, you'll get specific feedback on your unit. If you are a curriculum leader, you’ll get specific feedback on a unit or your plan to integrate your school’s curriculum.
You will get practical advice on what to do and what to avoid when planning and writing your integrated units.
Through highly practical and engaging professional learning that transforms theory into a regular part of curriculum writing, educators are prepared to apply a Concept-Based Inquiry approach to their integrated curriculum model classrooms immediately.
You’ll work on developing your first Concept-Based Integrated unit and have an opportunity to troubleshoot and refine these with a private coaching session with Rasha, or one of our CBI coaches to receive feedback on the unit you create.
You will receive your own Digital Resource Bank (examples, templates,...etc) to keep.
Four self-paced video modules with over 40 short lessons that set the groundwork for mastering the design and writing of an integrated unit.
Weekly group support calls with Rasha and fellow course participants are offered at two different times to accommodate different time zones. You'll even be able to observe a lesson plan from start to finish.
